High End Vehicle Theft and Security11/07/2017
There has been a spate of high end vehicle thefts across the UK in recent years.
One brand which has been notably affected is Range Rover. In a 2016 study of the most stolen cars of 2015, the vehicle appeared three times in the top 10 with the Range Rover Sport making the number one spot.
The people responsible for these thefts are becoming more knowledgeable and the equipment they use is more and more advanced. They normally gain entry by using a signal blocker when the owner goes to lock their vehicle. They then reset the ignition system, allowing the use of a blank transponder to start the vehicle and leave.
Some companies are now using rudimentary devices such as steering locks to help prevent thefts while arranging the installation of state of the art tracking and vehicle demobilisation systems.
